Merton House has been providing holidays for the disabled and elderly frail since 1965. It has been actively supported by many voluntary organisations but in particular the Birmingham Fellowship of the Handicapped, the Rotary Club of Birmingham and other Rotary Clubs have maintained continuous support.

The Rotary Club of Birmingham has provided considerable management and financial assistance in the development of the Hotel for the last 41 years and the project continuous in its status as a non profit making community service  charity.
