Community Garden Award 2010

Joyce Ware has worked really hard in our beautiful gardens. As a result we have won a gold award for the best overall retired community garden in Ross-on-Wye. As winners we were presented with the Mary Drew memorial shield and this is on display in the sun lounge. The photo is of Joyce Ware receiving the plaque from the Judges of the competition Peggy Luker and Margaret Lucas.

Merton House Garden Party Fete

As ever our gardens are simply beautiful, winning yet another Gold Award in the
Ross in Bloom Festival, a fantastic achievement and just reward for our first class gardener.

The Merton House Garden Party and Fete this year is on Sunday July 10th 2011 at 2.30pm

Last July we had a very successful summer party and fete on a sunny summers day. We were very lucky as on the same day it rained in Monmouth and Hereford. The photo is of the crowning of the Rose Queen and also shows the Mayor of Ross, our President Mrs Barbara Marshall and Mrs Lynn Ankcorn wife of the President of the Birmingham Rotary Club with flowers they were given.

New Refurbishments

Merton House now has 3 newly refurbished ground floor rooms with fully en-suite
shower wet rooms, ideally suited for those guests requiring the use of wheel chairs.

Recently we have undertaken a major refurbishment of our lift, bringing it fully
up to date.

All bedrooms have been fitted with an Aid Call system
that enables guests to contact staff in an emergency at any time.
